This week has be rather smooth sailing i mus say. the job was pretty ok, nice seniors and lotsa crapping... must be cos its only interium lar... no stress... come finals everything will be diff?? haha, i hope not though.

Anyway, been staying out late the past two days. meeting wif up wif frens!! something i've totally missed the past few weeks due to disgusting OT hrs... BUT, they only asked me out cos i'm their spares lar!!! (guilty parties reading, pls do some reflecting... haha) I wun mention names cos i love them still... Sad... Just becos ur dates nvr date you then u turn to ur frens?!?! super zong se qing you cans?!?! ANGRY!!! haha. se more impt rite? ok tt's doesn sound rite, but wadever... wahahaha...

On thurs, i was stuck in office doing the bloody web based learning thing... Stupid brainless ppl, nvr consider tt some ppl (like me) on job can? where got time to go back office to do ur stupid web based learning? and doesn help tt it takes so damn bloody long to load one page!! Pissed!! wahaha, getting out of pt again. yar so i was doing the stupid thing wif this certain Mr A. then he said his family is out of town, no one to eat dinner wif him... then asked around who wanna eat wif him... Since i had dinner, i said i dun wanna eat... then, he asks all his other girl friends but somehow all dun wanna go... so in the end, its me again. being the nice person i am, i accompanied him... see, i'm the spare but i'm still nice... sighs...

And tdy? the same thing happened!! Ms B was waiting for this guy to date her but he din. so.... she asked another fren and i to go shopping... This one is worse!! Good fren do this kinda thing! Treat us as spares!! Grrrr.... Better do some reflecting hors... haha... but it was fun. haven't met my two beloved babes for sometime. and we had good food! ok wait, the food wasn't fantastic but not too bad and the place was nice... though abit pricey... but it's ok, pamper myself before the start of my nitemare next week.

Jus when i'm complaining non stop cos of my disgusting schedule, round two is out!!! If i thought that working 8 weeks straight was bad, round 2 is WORSE!!! from the day i stepped into office until the end of the yr, i will only have 3 weeks free. and for some ppl, they have already slacked more than 3 weeks up till today!! super unfair rite?? Sighs... dunno if this is lucky or unlucky sia... lucky cos this gives me exposure and i dun have to worry abt clocking my time. unlucky cos lotsa OT and shit... oh wells...

BUT, round 2 is worse!! round 2 is actually our schedule for the first half of next yr. i'm expecting to be busy since it is the peak period... but not THIS busy.... i am actually booked all the way till mid Apr with only one week break in mid march. Yes, april!!! which is like 4 mths of working?? huhs?? and one job is actually gonna take 11 weeks?? hmms... dun understand why it will take so long. Maybe its cos the job requires us to go overseas?? haha... but i dunno if first years are going, though i hope i can go!! haha... phuket, shanghai and Maldives!! How cool is that? praying hard that i can go~ hehe... Ohs but i realised i'm not the worst liao. there is this guy booked all the way until june lor!! with only one week break. i will jus quit immediately if i'm him. hahahaha....

Anyway, if you are thinking that audit is hard, actually it is not really hard lar... esp for us yr ones... we kinda do the brainless stuffs like vouching and casting... blehs... its jus time consuming when it comes to big companies with many many subsidaries. cos need to do something called consolidation!!! hahaha, AA 306 is back to haunt us... for the benefit of those non accounting ppl... here's my simplified version of conso...

To produce the grp's financial statements of Company A, we need to combine all of the Subsi's financial statements. Then we move dwn the ladder to do B and C, which requires us to combine all the B1s and C1 and C2 respectively. then we do for B1, which means combining B1.1 and B1.2. and this is on top of the individual financial statements... haha confused liao rite? in short its jus alot of work. it is this conso that takes up the bulk of our time lor... sighs... not looking fwd to this. cos both my engagements has alot alot of subsi!! Why can't i have tiny cos with no subsi??? wahaha... Good luck to me~

Hehe... heart heart my xiao ben. =) came home early ( like the earliest ever! reached home at 7!!) could have been earlier if not for waiting for my stupid bus for almost 30 mins and the bloody traffic. blehs. anyways, since i was home early, i decided to play wif my hamster... been realising that its becoming smaller and smaller cos its not eating. then to my shock, i found out the reason!! my xiao ben lost a tooth!! this totally explains why all the foods she used to like were left untouched. Even her favourite sunflower seeds she nvr eat. only eat if we peel for her. NO WONDER! no teeth to bite how to eat?!?

My poor xiao ben... feel so sad when i see it becoming smaller and smaller by the day. so i bought soft food for my xiao ben... Now its eating more... hopefully it will become fat fat again soon... Heart heart!!

Finally, this is the first time i get to go home ealry. in fact, the last two days i was home before 9pm. Gotta enjoy these days. Wun have such life in the following weeks. Total hell to come.

Not looking fwd to next week. But praying new job will be less stressful.

Starting to understand my job a little. not so lost but still lost. Many thanks to dear ah ling and my seniors...

Diff btw an accountant and an auditor: accountants hide stuff. auditors try to find them. so qn: wad happens when an auditor becomes and accountant? ans: they noe where and how to hide things so that it wun be found. So does that make auditing useless?? hmmmss....

Yays, tml is fri... which means sat is near!! Totally love the weekends. Relax, catch up wif family, meet friends and jus SLACK~

Unfair... wait 5 days for wkends which only lasts 48hrs... Sighs

Who cares? as long as i can dun think abt work for 48 hrs.

Reasons to be an Auditor:

1. You have no friends or family and dunno wad to do with your time.
2. Can take one mth leave when clearing OT (that is if you can charge OT)
3. You are mad
4. Cannot find any other jobs
5. You like to take cabs

Reasons NOT to be an Auditor:

1. Work endless OT hours all year round
2. Not all OT can be claimed. Worse still, some cannot claim at all. ie totally overworked
3. No time for family and friends
3. Dreading the arrival of Mons
5. Shitty pay
6. Assistant life is HORRIBLE!!! Some ppl just dun treat assistants as humans.
7. All clients hate auditors
8. People try to smoke assistants all the time
9. Highly likely that you will be stuck in Tuas for weeks
10. Meal allowances and cab fares takes like a few mths to be claimed (imagine travelling from Pasir Ris to Tuas for 1 mth, haha you have to fork out more than $500 first.)
11. NO life. Everyday come home sleep then wake up work again
12. Assistants do all the shitty stuff like casting and vouching
13. Its a vicious cycle. if seniors treat you like shit, likely you will treat your juniors like shit
14. Even weekends may be spent doing work
15. You dun get to see your family. (when you come home, everyone is asleep)

Yups, so this is the sad life I am living now. everyday work from 8.30am all the way to 10pm. and its not even the peak period!!! I'm fully booked on engagements for the next 8 weeks. so the working hours can only get worse. in fact I question whether I will still be alive after these 8 weeks. pls wish me luck, i'll need lots of it~

Conclusion? to those abt to become auditors, pls reconsider!!! If you really HAVE to become one, pls pray to god (real hard and sincerely) that you meet nice seniors and managers that will not pick on you and make life difficult. to those current auditors, time to look for other job opps? haha... or hang in there till you are senior managers /partners. and do NOT continue the vicious cycle!!

Yays, i finally changed my blog template!! took me quite a while to do it though... not easy at all... worse still, i'm not some computing expert, dun even understand the script at all... so had to play around with the numbers quite abit. got to say, i'm quite satisfied with my end product~ hehe... but still gotta look into some minor details... have you realised that the blog preview and the final product is not the same? i took great pains to fine tune all the details but somehow when i "save settings" and look at my final blog, it is not the same at all!!! So angry!! my side bar is suppose to be white!! cos i dun want the whole blog to look so pink like it is now... the preview shows white, but the final? and my links are suppose to be the same dark pink as my previous posts... not the shitty looking pink it is now... ANGRY!!!

hmms... 3 days into my first job and i'm so tired?!?!? going home later and later by the day. 1st day 8.30pm, second day 10.40pm, today 11.20pm!!! best! 1st day at work and i got pulled dwn for engagement. how "lucky" is that? blehs... and 3 days into the job i offended my supervisor and seniors... although they din tell me off (cos its something small) i think they are pissed off with me lar... all becos the bloody printer screwed up on me and i din take the initiative to re-print the stuff! actually i dunno why i din do it oso. issit becos i was at the client's place and the client needed to use the comp? i cannot even rem lor, cos to me its really a small prob? but my sup told me off saying "then you are not even helping". Sighs... at first i din even take it to heart until my fren pointed out that i should have taken the initiative to sort things out. hmms... but its really not my biz wad.. and i seriously have not a single idea wad were the stuffs i was told to print can? ok shall not push the blame...

hmmss... come to think of it i was really not tactful in handling the situation sia... maybe i'm jus too straight forward like wad my fren said? hmm... but then again, if i really printed everything i dun think they will even thank me lar. we humans are really nasty creatures. we will never pay attention to or praise poeple for helping us with little things. but for sure if others can't get little things done correctly, we will surely scold and have a big fuss. unfair ehs? but that's the way we are. sighs... think i need to go consult my "best fren" for some boot-licking skills. wahaha...

and the worse thing is i'm already having thoughts of leaving. in fact all auditors have the thought of leaving. but all is say only... can say wanna leave but after years still saying only... haha... but seriously, after toking to my fren i seriously doubt i can stay long. firstly, the lousy pay. no incentive to stay on. and more imptly, the LONG working hours. totally no life. now i understand why auditors are rich and single. single cos no time to mingle or even go SDU. rich cos no time to spend, no family commitments and thrifty!! i DUN WAN!!!! haha... and i was still toking to zhongyu abt other job opps... saying that i will jump at any better job opp.

wows... so many bad signs... first my personality test, then my superpacked schedule, then offending my seniors, then the thought of quiting, then the job opps.... hmm... issit really gonna be soon.... haha

Ever wondered why there is no singular form for news? like why is one piece of news not known as new? my sis asked me this and i was stunned. Guess we dun really think much abt these small little everyday stuff? Cos this question never hit me in my entire 22 yrs of life... hmmss....

The word news actually stands for North.East.West.South which is basically all the four directions. this means that news comes from everywhere and can reach anywhere!! haha damn interesting rite? Never knew that such a simple word like news can actually have a meaning to it!! So the next time someone asks you is there a singular form for news, you know why the ans is no.

I was this bored in office!! Cos i din have a job, dun have anything to do (other than read GAM) so i went online to do this... haha... had to do it disceretly though cos cannot let my AO catch me not reading GAM... haha. But before i can blog it, I got pulled down for an audit job at APB. First day of actual work then got job liao?? blehs... worse still, its a big engagement which means lotsa OT to come. help help!!

On a totally diff note, qian was asking me how to cook scrambled eggs... so i decided to benefit all my dear friends... go master this easy to cook and nice to eat dish for your breakfast. then gers, you can go impress your boyfriends. hehes...

Scrambled Eggs

Step 1: Heat the pan. (pls do this properly or the oil will spurt. ouch~)

Step 2: Pour in the oil. (dun be too stingy on this, if not your cheese will stick, then will have burnt patches and good luck with the washing. haha...)

Step 3: Put in the cheese. Turn down the fire when doing this. (so tt the cheese wun burn)

Advice: Tear the cheese into smaller pieces so they melt more evenly...

Step 4: Pour in you eggs. Stir continuously

Advice: better to beat the eggs up prior to cooking

Step 5: Add in milk. Stir until done. (add in the milk when the eggs are still watery)

Ta Da~ its done... yummy scrambled eggs for breakfast. Tested and proven, its good. Practice makes perfect so if you have bits of burnt cheese its ok... it will still taste as good. If not you can start by not adding cheese... As u master the technique, then add cheese lors. hehe... For those that dun like cheese, you can jus skip the cheese part. then you'll have normal scrambled eggs. Just as good~ =)

Part 2 of our training was conducted at our office at Ocean Building. More than half the time we were listeing to lectures and the other half, doing a simulation case study. Super stress can? the time frame is so tight!! Luckily i had super groupmates~ gers, you are the best! hehe... wun forget the days we spent vouching frantically during lunch, then screaming at each other cos we are always so lost. " huh? why are you doing this?" " what are you doing? which step??" haha... but at the end of the day, we all love each other!!

Our fav line "ask senior leh" haha... then someone will "senior, senior" think our seniors are being driven nuts by us. hehe. and not forgetting, asking our "clients" for documents and info... the 6 of us always blurr blurr go in and anyhow ask. then when our trainers question us, we will be lost for words and all confused. ooppss... =P

And of cos, we all noe this certain someone who always tells us way too much and makes us even more confused... haha... opps, no names mentioned. private joke okie. Sighs, those were the days. soon we will be off to diff engagements. i will miss you gers~ Michelle's whining, i never knew she whines more than me lor. looks can be deceiving... haha... Wanqing's laughter, its super unique and contagious. Ruhui's blurrness, she's always spacing off and will always "huh? wad?" Jesslyn's "did you take my this, did you take my that?" babe, pls look after ur things okie? and Shuhui always falling asleep in class. Wake up already!!! hee, really had fun the past 2 weeks. we have to meet up for lunch and shopping okie?!?! and our KTV~ ons?

Dinner @ Just Noodles

Only the 4 of us went... Shuhui was too tired after the simulation, she went home. Michelle had some church meeting... but no worries, we can always go out again!! hehe

Like i mentioned in my previous post, the food was not too bad... I had the tofu and veggie set... nono i'm not on diet, just that i wanted tofu and it din come wif meat, tt's all... i think the curry looked good (at least it smelt good), will try that the next time i'm there. hees

My looks good but doesn taste good cappuccino. or maybe i'm just not a coffee lover? hmms...

Happy, happy gers... Nice dinner with nice friends~ Yays!!

Finally, i decided to finish watching my Wonderful Life... haha... have been dragging for some time i guess. but the thought of my disgusting scheduel to come motivated me to finish watching it. Won't have much time after my work pours in. blehs.

The story: Cheng Heng and Shi Zhen met in Singapore (yes the showcame to spore to film) after their passports were swapped when they bumped into each other at the airport. (yes our very own Changi Airport). Cheng Heng was in spore to look for Cai Ying, only to see her with another guy, Dao Xian. devasted, he and Shi Zhen went to sentosa to forget their worries... then somehow, they had a ONS, followed by a shotgun marriage.

yups so the young couple was forced into marriage... esp for Cheng Heng, it was like his whole world collasped. Shi Zhen was not the one he loved. (he liked Cai Ying) and so the couple came up with a contract to divorce after 5 years, giving their daughter, Xin Fei enough time to grow up. The show then goes on to show how the young couple balance work, school and family life. Running into financial difficulties, taking turns to look after their daughter and having to cope with their differences.

For Cheng Heng, it was also a time for him to grow and mature. He's really childish in the beginning. But slowly, he grows to love Xin Fei and Shi Zhen. ohs and i mus say, Da Bin is seriously a good actress - almost stealing the show frm the adults. She potrays Xin Fei fantabulously. and she's so cute!! hees.

Like all korean shows, the couple will always quarrel and then there's always the scene of the guy running to the ger and hugging her real tight and telling her "I love you". Super cheesy and predictable. but then again, I always cry when i see these scenes. I have no idea why cos i can predict it but yar, i will still cry... haha

I mus say this, Korean shows nowadays are beginning to become all the same... Wonderful Life seriously reminds me of Full House. Contract marriage, bickering couple slowly liking each other and even the bitch is the same?!?! (both played by Han Eun Jing) OMG!!! She equally bitchy in this show can? feel like slapping her... and the female lead's boss will fall for her and be there for her everytime she quarrels with the lead. The boss will be the Mr nice-guy, who is matured, rich and good looking while the lead will be the childish and unreasonable boy. so predictable! But Wonderful life has something extra - the daughter! towards the end, Da Bin will prove to be a tear jerker when she is diagnosed with leukemia. yups i cried... haha...

On a totally diff note, i noticed that Shi Zhen is jus an inverse of my name!?! haha... and there was this scene where she was wearing this necklace which looked awfully familar... In the end i realised i have a similar one!! haha... Super out of point but yar... =P

Overall, i would say Wonderful Life is not too bad... 3.5 outta 5 stars. ppl who liked full house can try watching it. hees...

Wed was the final day of simulation during training... went for dinner wif my fellow gerfrens... It was fun working with them for the past 1.5 wks~

We had dinner at Suntec's Just Noodles... Its located at the fountain terrace, walk one round and sure can find it. the food is not too bad and not ex at all... each set is less than $10 (after tax. there is no svc charge i think) and comes with free flow of drinks. dun try the cappuccino k? not nice... wawa is still nicer! hahas

Prometheus 2006 - Des Reves

Date: 2nd September 2006

Time: 8pm

Venue: DBS Arts Centre

This years Prometheus production was a musical... an adaptation of broadway's "A Chorus Line" and i must say, it was very good... In fact, the best hall 7 production i've seen so far... hehe... The story is a director holding an audition for his production. and hence we get to see how young dancers try their luck at fame. then comes a fallen star and her struggle to find the reason for her marriage failure. in between of cos there were love stories, recollections of childhood and the struggle to find their aims in life, understanding their passion for dancing and of cos, singing and dancing.

Realised that Hall 7 has quite a bit of talented ppl... dancers, singers, dance choreographers and even music composers~ Good job guys, good job. you guys did well!! hee...

Financial Controllers of Prometheus - Past and present... haha, i'm making myself sound old when in fact my successor is older than me. hohoho

Cast and committee members of Prometheus 2005!! Alot of us seniors went on Sat so no wonder our juniors were commenting that it was a seniors nite.. haha... anyways, a million thanks to the cast and committee of Prometheus 2006~ Congrads on a job well done.

Ever wondered why we are never satisfied with wad we have? and that why some people are just not grateful of the help rendered by others? heard frm my mum that my aunt's husband is having disputes with my uncle due to payroll issues. I remember that during the economic downturn in 2000 and 2001, my uncle-in-law lost his job. so my uncle being the nice man he is, employed him. In fact, my uncle employs my other aunt and cousin as well...

side track abit, my mum likes to say that our family is the only one that doesn work for him, all her other sisters works for him one way or another... in fact my uncle always shares his success with his family. be it offering to pay for my cousin's tuition fees (not his own children), bringing us for holiday or paying for all meals on family outings (imagine paying for 20 over ppl), he never complains. he's not a man of words, so he doesn noe how to console or advice ppl. so whenever any of his siblings are in financial difficulty, he will be more than willing to lend a hand. Guess this is his way of helping out - the prac way.

back to my point. so my uncle-in-law works for my uncle as a driver. during recent years, he got promoted to sales manager, so he bought a car. fuel is subsidsed by the company, so my uncle-in-law only pays for the installments. he draws a fixed salary on top of a 50-70% profit commission on his deals. but becos he draws fixed salary and has fuel subsidy, my uncle expects him to help out with deliveries when the delivery man is busy. and this was where the dispute came in...

my uncle-in-law says that by doing delivery, this reduces his sales, which is unfair. cos the other sales manager does not do delivery. but HELLO?!?! the other sales manager doesn draw fixed salary!! if my uncle makes him do delivery, that WILL be unfair. so my uncle offered him the same terms as the other sales manager. if he doesn draw fixed salary, my uncle will stop asking him to help with deliveries and hire another delivery man. But my uncle-in-law din like the idea of having no fixed salary.

In my opinion, my uncle-in-law is damn ungrateful and unreasonable lar!!! come on lor, his fixed salary is my total salary can?!?! and its not like he does delivery everyday. its only when there is too much work for the delivery man to handle. And he is the one uncomfortable with variable income. So who can you blame? my mum thinks that some other distant relative is trying to stir trouble in our family. cos they are always envious of the success my uncle has. but still... its my uncle-in-law's fault lor. I mean how can you draw a extra fixed salary and do the same work as the other sales manager? my uncle has to be fair to his other employees as well wad.

But guess my aunt is the ultimate victim in this situation. on one hand its her husband, the other is her brother. and furthermore, she was the one who approached my uncle for help when her husband lost his job. Sighs... why issit that men are never satisfied? We always complain that wadever we have is not enuff. Just like myself. always complaining tt I draw peanuts pay but work like s***. But not realising that some ppl are still jobless. then again, I remember a partner telling us that one should never be satisfied with wad we have. we should always aim higher and better. But when we start to aim high, we tend to get greedy and arrogant. just look at my uncle-in-law. aim high he did alright. but to the extent of forgetting who was the one who brought him to where he is now and how his selfish and ambitious thoughts can affect his loved ones (my aunt). Guess i am just having a taste of the world of politics? and seriously, i dun like it one bit.
